Tutta la storia di questi riti è stata raccolta in un libro “La dolce strada“, da Nicola Natili e Veronica Grandetti. Per le illustrazioni ci ha pensato Giulia Baratella. E’ disponibile anche la versione inglese curata da una cara amica, Annalisa Coppolaro Nowell.

Un itinerario che si snoda attraverso i secoli, alla ricerca delle radici culturali che fondono il moderno con l’antico. Riscoprire le tradizioni significa ricalcare il percorso di tutti quegli uomini che le hanno create e trasformate, riuscendo a trasmetterle e tramandarle di generazione in generazione. Colpisce come a tutt’oggi nella maggior parte delle tavole senesi, nei giorni di festa, vengano preparati i dolci della tradizione locale, con la stessa cura e passione di un tempo.

A raccontare l’intreccio tra storia, memoria, tradizioni orali e culinarie è Caterina, una bambina curiosa delle cose. Caterina ama sporcarsi le mani, fantasticare sui racconti scolastici e prima ancora su quelli dei nonni, del babbo, della tata.
